The evolution of the market of optical components, the opening of new scenarios such as optical interconnects, optical networks and wideband connections, will shortly require large optical circuits, integrated on a planar substrate but also hybrid, integrating a large number of functions. The availability of software platforms able to simulate and design complex and large circuits will be then of major importance in order to reduce design, production and packaging costs.
ASPIC is a software tool that places in this context, penetrating in the field of education, research and industrial development, in particular for fast and accurate modelling and design of large and complete circuits, exploiting measures and process data always in the spirit of ‘Design for high yield and reliability’.
